Six things we will not compromise on
Roofing is an easy trade to get wrong and a hard one for a customer to check. These are the habits that make us easy to judge.
We quote what we find
Every price is itemised and written down before work starts. No day-rate creep, no costs that appear once the scaffold is up.
We say no to work
If your roof does not need replacing, we will tell you. Turning down a big job to do a small one is how you get recommended.

The detail
Most roofs fail at the junctions
Ask any roofer where roofs actually leak and you will get the same answer: not in the middle of the slope, but where the roof meets something else. A chimney, a parapet, a valley, a rooflight kerb, an abutment against a neighbour's wall. That is where the skill is, and it is where the shortcuts get taken.
So that is what we spend our time on. Lead formed properly rather than mortar smeared into a joint. Upstands taken to a height that works rather than the height that was quick. It is unglamorous, invisible when it is right, and the single biggest reason a roof lasts.
